5 Practices Book Study Chapter 3

I really enjoyed reading about Mrs. Dunn’s classroom and their process of working through the patio problem. I felt as if Mrs. Dunn gave a true picture of using the 5 practices.

We saw that she was monitoring students work and at the same time selecting students she wanted to present. We also saw how she was going to sequence students to present their ideas. We didn’t see too much about how she got ready for this lesson but for what we did see Mrs. Dunn had to have carefully selected the task. I highly doubt that she didn’t work through the task in multiple ways before presenting the task to the class.

This is a short blog but I was not really sure what else to say about this chapter. I was really impressed.
